Deep Geothermal Energy

Deep geothermal energy is an abundant, safe, environmentally friendly and renewable energy source from heat simmering within the earth's bedrock. The Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) is the key technology for developing the hot dry rock (HDR) that normally has higher temperature than 180°C. The EGS technology could produce the deep geothermal energy for various applications, such as direct heating and electricity generation.

ENN is exploring the EGS technology, including alternative drilling in high temperature hard rock, multi-stage hydraulic fracturing and well connecting, thermal reservoir and operation simulation. Our ultimate goal is to develop Super-Hot-EGS---an advanced EGS could produce 10 times more electricity than a conventional hot dry rock (HDR) system.
